Meet Dr. Scott A. Wenger

Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon

As the son of a physician, Dr. Wenger knew at an early age he wanted to pursue a career in medicine. He developed a special interest in sports medicine after sustaining a season-ending football injury during his senior year in high school. An avid sports enthusiast, he provides state-of-the-art care for patients suffering from a variety of common sports-related injuries resulting from overuse or trauma. Dr. Wenger combines his training in sports medicine, biology, and general orthopaedic surgery to create a total approach to your treatment.

A native Texan, Dr. Wenger graduated from Southern Methodist University with a degree in Biology before receiving his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in 1998. He also completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center where he trained at the world-renowned Parkland Hospital. Dr. Wenger then traveled to Los Angeles, California, for a sports medicine fellowship at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic where he trained under some of the top sports medicine physicians in the country. While at KJOC, he assisted in the care of high school, collegiate and professional athletes including the LA Lakers, LA Dodgers, LA Kings, Anaheim Ducks, and Anaheim Angels.

Dr. Wenger is a physician who truly understands orthopaedic challenges from all points of view – surgeon, biologist, patient, athlete, and parent. He uses his experience from each of these different points of view to better understand orthopaedic medicine, and his patients benefit from this exceptionally broad spectrum of insights. Dr. Wenger’s patients, including children and adults, athletes and non-athletes, all receive the same expert care and personal attention.

Dr. Wenger and his wife, Ginny, have two children - Luke and Adam. When not helping his patients Dr. Wenger is actively involved with Luke and Adam in soccer, swimming, gymnastics and Cub Scouts. He enjoys hiking, cycling, snow-skiing, and spending time with his wife, children, two dogs, and leopard gecko.
